Arak Fakra Classic is also a well-known anise schnapps from Lebanon. In addition, even often a favorite of some locals. First and foremost this Edition is compared to its big brother Arak Fakra XO rather the common edition. However, this Brandy still scores with its value and taste in relation to its price. Continuing, the reputation of the distillery is also the reason why the winery became known. In this regard, however, also mainly because of the Arak Fakra Classic. And thus the owner Dr. Carlos Adem had a pretty easy game. However, the wines of this winery should not be underestimated as well.

What are the aromas of Arak Fakra Classic?

Now back to the aromas of the most famous aniseed liquor from Lebanon. First, the traditional scent of licorice is hard to ignore. This aroma is still one of the most important attributes of the traditional Lebanese arak. Certainly, a result of adding anise seeds. In addition, there are notes of fennel and fresh forest herbs. Accordingly, also already a standard for both in fragrance and taste.

But above all, this Lebanese arak is still a bit different from the others. For instance because to its  perfect balance between strength and smoothness, as well as just the right amount of spiciness. But most importantly all of this allows the alcohol to sink into harmony of this brandy. That's why this arak is ideal for a convivial evening conversation. And of course also suits with several dishes. In fact, numerous dishes such as stews and grilled meat as well as fish.

How does Chateau Fakra produce this aniseed brandy?

Chateau Fakra distillery has also put quite a lot of effort into this arak. In short it is mainly because the Quality of their Obeidi grape, which were certainly hand-picked during harvest and then also carefully transported to the winery. Thus, the vines enjoy both the numerous hours of sunshine and just the right cold climate in winter and summer nights. Just the right conditions to develop the perfect balance between fruit and acidity to become the most suitable grape for Arak.

And after they have been fermented, the distillery infuses the grape alcohol three more times. And this time with anise similar to as with the production of almost all other arak varieties. This is also the reason for the aroma of licorice! And last but not least, the Arak Fakra Classic ages in clay jugs made of Zahle for another 2 years. In Conclusion... an ingenious anise schnapps with a lot of history but also elegance.
